June 1, 2013 I had alot of time to think about things that night while I lay next to Hannah. I couldn't sleep, and I didn't want to lose this time with her. I'm really forced to wonder just what it is I'm doing here. Am I wasting my time sitting? Should I be typing in my free time for a novel later in life? And just how much time do I have left. Having written more than a book's worth of story, I can say this: If an author says the curtains are blue, it doesn't often mean that the character is depressed, or the author is depressed, or anything like that. They mean the curtains are blue, because that's what they intended it to be. They thought of blue curtains for whatever room it is, because it fit in their mind with the decor of the rest of the room. There isn't a hidden meaning, it just is what it is. Magic the Gathering's tactics have changed over the years. Long ago, in '93 when it came out, it was little more than the same type of cards, badly written and ruled, that we have twenty years later. It was just another day, an somewhat cool late-spring morning in Kansas. To most people, a temperature fluctuation would be confusing, but in Kansas it was normal. Expected, even. It could just as easily keep a constant temperature as it could drop sporadically and go from sunshine to snow in less than an hour. It's just the way it was. Life went on as normal, the kids going to school, parents and the other adults going to work or wherever else they tended to go.
